JACOB HUBER HOOVER:  REVOLUTIONARY WAR RECORD

Solid documentary evidence exists for Jacob Huber's (Hoover) service in the Revolutionary War.   First, we have the military payroll record which provides the date of August 1778, identification of the German Battalion, Continental Troops and the 4th Vacant Company in the German Regiment commanded by Lieut. Col. Weltner.  An almost unreadable, but very helpful, note explains that this particular company was designated at various times as Capt. William Heiser's 4th Vacant.  The Capt. Heiser reference catches my attention since Captain Peter Bell took over Heiser's (Heyser's) command in the Maryland Militia when Heiser left for a command in the German Battalion of the Continental Army:
